Most likely a new addiction

Well, after constant debating of going to go and see Twilight, I gave in. Last night I went to the movie, alone. Sad, I know. Luckily my neighbors were there and I made them sit with me. Amanda has both read the books and seen the movie and boasted about both. After the movie was over, I was now wanting to read the books. I want to do it right now. I don't feel like I can wait. Amanda has the books, but her aunt has the first one. So I have to wait until she gets it back. Hayley is wanting to go and see the movie again, so I said that I would go with her. And know, 7:00 pm can't come fast enough. What is this? First Harry Potter, and now this. I need to stop!!!

Finally an update

Well, it's been 8 months since I last wrote. I'm horrible. So since May, we went and bought a pop up camper and started camping. The kids love it. Especially Finley, who would cry when we left on Sundays to go back home. We started by traveling between a few campgrounds, McIntosh Park in Ventura, Pilot Knob in Forest City, we spent a month in Wells which we really enjoyed, there just wasn't any swimming areas. Just great fishing. We then ended up at 3 Fingers in Forest City, where they had swimming, fishing, and lots of friends. Always busy. Also in May, I got let go at Waldorf because my power hungry boss screwed me over. The good thing was, that I was actually looking for a new job so I wasn't totally heartbroken. More just pissed off. A good note in June Lyla Jane Rogstad was born. This was in June. In July, my little man turned 7!!! I can not believe I have been a mother for 7 years already. Jeremy and Stacie and co. were also in town for Stacie's sister Brooke's wedding. We went to that and the kids had a great time. Parker caught the garter and was wearing it on his head by the end of the night. July 28th we got the phone call that Crystal was in labor and we needed to get to the hospital NOW! She ended up having to hold him in until the doctor could get there. So if the doctor was there, we would have missed the birth. Carter Ryen Gerdes was born. What a sweetie. August came and Mike and Maria and family were in town for the Rogstad family reunion. We (me and the kids) finally got to meet Jessica, Ryan's wife. Chris took the trip to Texas for the wedding. Finley LOVED her. August also consisted of yes, more camping. I started teaching Sunday School at church teaching 1st graders. I am enjoying it. Parker started 1st grade and Finely started 3 year old preschool. For Labor day we pulled out of 3 Fingers and drove up to my grandparents in McGregor, MN. My cousin Karen and her family were up there also with their pop up. We had a great time. We do it every year, just this year there was more room because we brought the campers. We ended up ending our camping season there, and didn't go back to 3 Fingers. Finley started dance class and loves it. Tuesdays are her favorite day of the week because she has school in the morning and dance at night. I started working at the Lake Mills elevator for harvest season weighing grain trucks. October, Chris and I celebrated our 6th Anniversary. We didn't do much, just went out to eat. If I am remembering right, October wasn't very eventful. Novemember was just full of Thanksgivings. Big news is, Chris got a new job. He is working at Outland Renewable Energy. Which is the wind turbines around our area. He is a technician and loves it. he will complain if he doesn't get 70 hours in for the week. A friend of my mom's and her 17 year old daughter, Hayley moved to Lake Mills this month and are living at my parents until they get on their feet. Crystal and I enjoy having Hayley around, she's like having another little sister around. Finley had her first "concert". Singing at the 8:30 service at church. She was so cute, and quite the entertainer. And finally December, it is the 3rd and so far we've already had an incident. This morning I had to call the dentist for Parker. Ended up he had a big cavity and an abscessed tooth. They gave him a pseudo-root canal. Poor kid. Crystal, Deena & I bought tickets this morning for the Britney Spears concert in April, we also bought a ticket for Hayley for her Christmas gift. We are telling her tonight, can't keep something like that secret. She's a Britney fanatic! Tomorrow night Parker has his Christmas concert which I hear is like 3 hours long. Maybe we can leave after he sings. Carter gets baptized this Saturday. So this week is kind of busy. Hopefully I will keep up with this more now that I am done working and have some extra day time to write.

Mother's Day

Today is Mother's Day. It started with going to church this morning. My grandparents are in town this weekend so we had them and my parents over for "snacks". We played some baseball in the back yard, and now I am inside relaxing a bit. It's been a long weekend, I'm beat. Yesterday was my birthday. 32 years now. Not too bad. It didn't hurt as bad as turning 30. :o) Like I said, my grandparents are in town and Grandma is a big gambler. So, we decided to do Mother's Day on my birthday and go to the casino. 5 long hours in smoke. :o( Yuck. Then I came home to get my family because we needed to bring them down to Garner to Crystal's house. She offered to watch Parker and Finley so Chris and I could go to dinner and a movie. We went to Buffalo Wild Wings(God I love that place) and we went and saw "What Happens in Vegas". Good movie, I recommend it to anyone. We had Tony and Sara's wedding last weekend. That went great. It was alot of fun. Finley was really enjoyable, she just wanted to dance. She fell asleep twice in my dad's arms. I brought to your hotel room, and she would wake up and want to go back downstairs and dance. I didn't have my camera, so I am waiting for others to post pictures so I can "borrow" them to post here. Until next time.....

Just another boring night

It's Wednesday night and Chris is working his one night a week at Home Depot. It is 8:30 at night, Finley is in bed and Parker is up playing the wii. After work I took Parker to get his haircut and then we went to my parents house to show them. I got lucky and they fed the kids for me. Which was great since I wasn't feeling like cooking and Parker wanted breakfast for supper. I was just going to take them to Perkins, make it easy for me. But mom offered oatmeal and that was that. Thank you MOM!! So we got home around 6ish and I thought I could get the kids in bed early and call it the night. Wrong. All are wild, including the dog. I think I heard Calgon calling my name. We have Tony and Sara's wedding this weekend and are excited to see everyone. I however have not written my speech. It's going to be short and sweet. It's going to be a good time. I will probably post some pictures after the wedding and let you know about it. Until then...Caio!

Well, here I am again. I do have to admit, this is harder than I thought it would be. Even with a husband, 2 kids, and a dog, you'd think I'd have alot to say. Well, today is my mom's 55th birthday. So Happy Birthday MOM!!! Last week was kind of exciting because we took Finley to her pre-school orientation. I can't believe how big she's getting. Pre-School already. She is so excited and can't wait to go. I am excited to take her "school" shopping. She can pick out her new backpack, crayons, scissors, and whatever else is on her list. Parker will be starting 1st grade in the fall also. (Where do the years go?) We will have a before school conference with his teacher in August. He goes to the 1st grade daily for a half an hour for guided reading. He really enjoys doing that. His teacher has told us that he reads better than alot of her students. I hope he keeps it up. Chris has dropped ALOT of hours at Home Depot for the summer. He is down from 3-4 days a week including weekends to 1 day a week, and no weekends. But he still doesn't have alot of time. He is pretty much booked every weekend this summer with little side jobs. It seems like the shade/blinds business is starting to take off. That's nice. And he seems to like it. I am still working at Waldorf. We will be starting our half day Fridays soon, so I am super excited for that. Next weekend, we are going up tho the cities for my cousins wedding. I have the honor of being the Matron of Honor for Sara (Tony's future wife). I love her, she's great. (That doesn't come easy for me when it comes to who he dates) I am excited to see family that I haven't gotten to seen for awhile. And even the ones that I have. (Please don't ask about cousin's weekend, I haven't even thought about it yet). Well, until next time. -Shana

Scotto

Well, since I am new at this I will start by showing off our new puppy. His name is Scotto. I had a whole list of names and Parker says, "How about Scotto?" Ok, Scotto it is. So, we were told Scotto was a 7 week old German Shorthair/Lab. Well, we later found out he was a 5 week old mutt. So, as of right now we have no clue what he is. He's definitely Lab though. Things are going good with him so far. Just the regular puppy things, biting, peeing in the house, pooping in the house, all the fun stuff that goes along with puppies. He will go to the back door and bark, but if we aren't paying attention he'll just go on the floor. OR, if he just wants to flat out be naughty, he will go on the floor. We are working on the training, so hopefully by summer he will be done with his puppy behavior. Wish us luck with our new addition!!
